After the excitement and anticipation of December fades away, January can be a difficult month. With the cold weather, darker mornings, and earlier evenings, you might find yourself going stir-crazy in the house. Having a tight budget and catching up on the holiday spending can put a damper on your plans when it comes to finding things to do, but there are still some things you can do to lift your spirits.
Walking around with a group of friends and visiting different stores can be a fun and inexpensive way to spend the day. If you do see something you like, make note of it and come back to buy it when you've saved up for it. Sometimes it's nice just to have people to spend time with, regardless of what you're doing.
Cold weather and a warm fire go hand in hand. Grab the logs, invite some friends, and get out the Baileys to add to your hot chocolate. Don’t forget the s’mores!
For some of us, we haven’t been to these places since we were little. It typically isn’t something that we plan to do when we have so many other things on our minds. Yes, some do cost money, but there are certain places you can go online that offer discounted tickets. Some museums and aquariums may offer discounted prices for certain days of the week or holidays.
When you're looking for a quiet environment and a new book to read to pass the time, head over to your library. Not only is everyone around you looking for a peaceful haven as well, but they might even be able to recommend their favorite book that may just end up being your favorite too.
